Cursor

Override Cursor's OpenAI base URL to run Roteo models in the editor.

Cursor lets you override the OpenAI base URL, which is all Roteo needs: no proxy, no extension. Choosing a custom model needs a paid Cursor plan; the free plan only offers Cursor's "Auto", which cannot use a custom base URL.

Connect

  1. In Settings → Models → OpenAI API Key, paste your Roteo sk_ key.
  2. Enable Override OpenAI Base URL and set it to https://api.roteo.ai/v1.
  3. Add a custom model, for example gpt-5.6-sol.
  4. Disable Cursor's built-in models.

Step 4 is the one people miss. Cursor checks the key against whichever model is selected; with a built-in model still enabled, it checks against a model Roteo does not serve and the key reads as invalid.

Models

Cursor drives the model as an agent, so use an open-weight or gpt-* id from Models. Claude models are refused for agent frameworks; for Claude, use Claude Code.
